Single Estate Tea

“Single Estate” & “Tea Garden” are synonymous for an individually run geographical area for growing and producing tea. Most teas available are blends. Blends of teas are made from various tea estates or tea gardens, from various areas to create a particular flavor & to keep cost consistent.

A high quality Single Estate tea will have a more exuberant flavor than a blended tea & is usually more costly. It does mean that every Single Estate tea will have different characteristics, which frankly adds to the excitement of drinking single estate teas. BARROWS criteria for its Single Estate teas & for all of its teas are: good aroma, excellent flavor and no bitterness.
